This was a long time plan in the making (about a year!) and Sara helped me to be able to afford this amazing opportunity. I had recently left an abusive relationship and I was struggling to find myself. I read all the blogs, the welcome information, and everything in between on her website. It felt like the absolute right thing to do, in my head and in my heart. After all, when you visit her website, the first thing you see is, “Witness your soul shine and fall in love with yourself again or for the first time.” That was exactly what I needed to do! I needed approval from myself, and I wanted, only for myself, to feel beautiful, important, and loved – by ME!I’m sure I could have prepped more for the shoot itself, but lets be real here… I’m a single mother, working full time, trying my best to keep my head securely on my shoulders! ๐ That usually means no such luck for this momma for any prepping or pampering! But that’s ok because here’s what happened when I knocked on the studio’s door….I was greeted by an adorable woman named Makenzie. She introduced herself and immediately made me feel at ease, although I still apologized for my attire (pajamas) and completely bare face and frizzy hair. She brushed it off saying, “don’t be silly! I’m jealous I’m not wearing mine! And I am very excited to do your hair and makeup! Its going to be great!” We chatted for a few minutes and then I was greeted by miss Sara herself! She brought such a positive, happy, and loving vibe to the already chipper atmosphere. I thought I was going to be so nervous, never having done something like this. Boy was I wrong! I was excited and I could hardly wait to start! We walked downstairs and from that time until the hugs goodbye, I felt empowered, care free, strong and fabulous!!!We started with make up and hair of course, talking, and having fun conversations! Just so you all know, Sara makes certain that her clients know this: We are the stars of the show! So the make up was tailored to my liking, as was the hair, all the way through the poses and pictures. They were there along the way to do what professionals do – Guide, give options and ideas, and make sure I am having a blast! Sara showed me pictures along the way, boosting my confidence and encouraging me to be happy in my own skin. They helped me pick out which outfits of mine would be stellar in my photographs, they paired it with awesome jewelry, and included some fabulous accessories/props to boot! ๐ I almost can’t articulate how happy I was from the inside out that day. Even though my birthday was just so-so beyond the shoot, the entire experience had me grinning ear to ear the whole way home in my car! My birthday was so special thanks to Sara and Makenzie! Then came the reveal! We had scheduled it at the end of my shoot, and the day finally came. We sat down, suspense building, until finally we got through the papers, and she pressed play! All of the pictures she took – beautifully done in color and black and white, were on the big screen, floating effortlessly through, reminding me again just how fun the photo shoot was! Listening to the music and looking at my pictures brought back memories of the whole experience from start to finish. Looking at how fierce my photos were was just the cherry on top! ๐Needless to say, I am so blessed to have done my photo shoot with her and her excellent team and I have no plans of ever going to a different photographer for specialty moments like this. My heart is full, I am stronger now, and fell in love with myself again! Just like Sara said!! I forever have these pictures and memories to remind me of the strong, beautiful woman and mother I am!Interested in a boudoir shoot?
