FAQs

Can I bring a guest with me?

Yes, but your friend must be female and you need be sure to clear that with the Jezebel team at least three days in advance. There are a lot of reasons people ask to bring friends, mostly for comfort. We understand this feels like it might make the nerves fall. The truth is it often makes them worse. Everyone at the studio is deeply invested and involved in your session. We are holding light reflectors and cameras and oohing and ahhing all over your awesomeness. Your friend is just staring at you. Even if they don’t mean to, it creates a bit of unease and often does not leave you feeling footloose and fancy-free. We want you to always feel free to let go and go where the moment takes you. This is not a shared experience with your friend as they are not involved in the session. So although the answer is yes, you can bring a female friend with you, we are always going to recommend against it and will need to talk with you over the phone about this prior to approval.

Do I need to bring all my own outfits, accessories and shoes or can you supply some of these things?

You are welcome to bring any clothes, lingerie, accessories and/or shoes that you love! Our goal is to help you feel like the best version of yourself so if you have a pair of shoes that make you feel like a queen or a piece of jewelry that you adore please bring those things with you! We also have a large closet of clothes and accessories in a wide variety of sizes, so don’t worry if you don’t think you’ll have anything to wear. Speaking of sizes! We carry everything from size 4 to 28 and everything in between. We also have shoes in sizes 6 to 13! We love putting together looks that will help you to feel like a goddess!

Can I do my own hair and makeup?

We want every woman to look and feel amazing for their session. A part of the Jezebel experience is pampering you so you will not have to worry about doing your own hair or makeup for your shoot! Also, makeup for photography is drastically different than “going out” make-up. Lighting differences throughout the shoot, editing style, and make adjustments are taken into account so that each client looks like themselves, just enhanced. Putting on more or very dramatic makeup does not necessarily mean it will translate well on camera. So you get to sit back and relax as the Jezebel team takes care of you! Our resident makeup and hair artist, Tiffany Nash, has nearly 20 years of experience in the beauty industry and she is excited to work with you to create a hair and makeup look that allows you to shine!

I am plus size woman, will my photos even look good?

Women of all shapes and sizes are welcome at Jezebel VonZephyr! We are a body positive studio and we believe everybody is beautiful. The Jezebel team deeply believes that every woman deserves to feel beautiful and worthy and our goal is to help you feel those things during your session. We have photographed women of every size and we will help you to look and feel gorgeous with customized outfits and posing. Jezebel VonZephryr has been photographing gorgeous women of all sizes for over five years and works hard to ensure that your photos will show your unique beauty and light.

Should I spray tan before I come in?

Our goal is to help every woman feel beautiful in their own skin, exactly as they are, so we discourage spray tans or using a tanning bed before your session. We love your natural skin tone! It can also be incredibly hard to photograph skin that has been altered by bulbs or chemical spray. If you feel like you’ll be your best self with a spray tan, then you will want to time it very carefully otherwise, your photos may have you looking like an Oompa Loompa. We encourage you talk with the Jezebel team during your consultation to figure out if you should come into the studio with an artificial tan.

Will you help with posing or do I need to learn that before I come in?

YES!! We help with every pose! No practice needed before your session! We are experts on knowing what poses will look good on camera and we tailor poses to fit your body, outfit, and aesthetic. You will be coached and supported every step of the way throughout your session.

Will my photos be used publicly or posted on social media?

Jezebel VonZephyr believes in consent and confidentiality. Your privacy is our top concern. We will never use your photos without your express written consent. Your photos and identity will be as private as you want it to be. We will never post your photos on social media or in our public without asking and receiving your permission.

This sounds like a fun activity to do with my friends! Can I do a boudoir shoot for my bachelorette party?

Boudoir shoots are a lot of fun! We like to give each client individualized attention and support during their sessions because we know how nerve-wracking it can be to be half-naked in front of a camera. We prefer sessions to be one-one-one but are open to group photography sessions. If you want to explore a group shoot, please feel free to contact us.

How naked do I have to get?

As naked as you wish. You may be fully dressed in a glamorous vintage gown or in your birthday suit! This is really up to you and what your goals are. We will always push you a little, never hard, and never mean. Always with love, but we will push you towards the edge of your comfort zone. The goal of this is to allow you to experience the “scary thing” in a VERY SAFE environment. We meet you where you are, always, so this should never, ever, ever be a worry or concern that we will be forcing you to do anything you don’t want to. Again, this session is for your personal growth (even if it is for a gift!).

How long is a session?

It depends on what kind of session you’re doing! A session can range from two hours for a mini up to eight hours for a Project Fan Girl shoot. Check out all of our packages for more information. And if you need help deciding what will be a perfect fit for you, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

What’s the point of doing a session if I don’t have a partner?

The point is you are enough on your own and you are only seeing you through the filter of your own thoughts. We can show you a version of yourself you have never seen or have not seen in a long time. We don’t change who you are; it is not makeup that makes this shift, it is the WAY we see you. It is HOW we see you: through the lens of pure unconditional love and with ZERO JUDGEMENT about who you are or what you look like.

Are trans women welcome and safe in your studio?

Yes. The Jezebel studio is a safe space. All women are welcome, celebrated, and honored in our studio.

Is there an age limit for a shoot?

Women must be at least 18 to participate in a Jezebel boudoir shoot, but apart from this, there is no age limit! We have photographed women from ages 18 to 85. We strive to help women see their beauty and stand in their light at every stage of life.

I really want to do a session, but I can’t afford to pay in full. Do you offer payment plans?

Yes we do!! We ask that you pay the deposit on your own. Once you select your date and pay the deposit we will send you an invoice for your balance. You can pay some or all against that invoice as long as you need to. Our only request is that your balance is paid in full on or before your actual session date. We are happy to work with women with any budget!

Do you photograph men or couples?

Our specialty is uplifting and empowering women through our shoots. We love seeing the transformations that occur within women during our sessions. For these reasons, we do not photograph men or couples. But this is a great idea and something that Jezebel VonZephyr encourages people to explore!

Could you shoot at my house or on location?

Possibly! We prefer to have sessions at the JVZ studio because of the access to our big wardrobe and the variety of settings for your photos. But we may be open to coming to your home if you are local to the Seattle area. The JVZ team will happily travel to remote locations if at least five sessions are lined up!

How much do you Photoshop the photos? Could you make me smaller or edit out my double chin?

Jezebel VonZephyr believes that every woman is glorious exactly as they are. Our photos reflect each person’s light and unique beauty. We will never Photoshop pictures to make anyone look smaller or take out any features that someone may consider to be less-than-perfect. But we will help you to see yourself as beautiful during your shoot and reveal. We want you to see yourself in a new light—no Photoshop needed!

I’m ready to book a shoot! What do I do next?

Hurray! We are so excited to photograph you in all your gorgeous glory! Decide which session you would like to book. Then visit our booking page to select your session and date. Our deposits start at $75 and can go up from there, depending on which session you book. Once you pay, we will email you a confirmation and your Jezebel adventure can begin!

What’s your refund policy?

All sales are final. We do not offer any refunds or returns on a product unless it is damaged somehow in the mail.

When will my photos be available to see? How do I see them?

A major part of the Jezebel VonZephyr experience is the reveal! We invite clients to come back to the studio, usually a week or two after your shoot and we sit down with you and show you all of your photos. We can also do a reveal via an online video conference (with prior studio approval) if you live more than 300 miles away and/or have to cross any mountain passes in inclement weather. Reveals are one of our favorite parts of our job because we get to watch our clients see themselves in a new light and fall in love with themselves. It is a really special time. (And yes, you can bring one friend with you to the reveal!)

Can I reschedule if I can no longer make the date I booked?

Yes, definitely! We know that life happens and sometimes people need to reschedule. We ask that you let us know as soon as possible that you need to reschedule. The rescheduling fee is equal to your session deposit amount, but we give it back to you at your reveal as studio credit to purchase additional items (prints, digitals, albums, etc…). If you wish to cancel altogether, the cancellation fee is equal to your session fee before discounts.

Do I need to be vaccinated?

If you are planning to visit us in the studio you must be fully vaccinated–bring your vaccination card, we will want to see it. You must also wear a mask into the building and we will let you know when it is time to take it off. You do not have to wear a mask throughout your session, but because of this, you do have to be vaccinated. If you are medically exempt from the receiving the COVID19 vaccine, please contact us before you book so we can have a conversation about if we will be able to safely accommodate you. Medical exemptions are on a case by case basis. We’re all in this together. Jezebel VonZephyr believes that we are stronger than this pandemic and we must do everything we can to keep each other safe and supported.

See yourself through the lens of unconditional love today!
