Jezebel made me do it!

One Monday each month we feature a Jezebel Belle who has discovered a new part of herself thanks to her JVZ shoot and give them space to tell a piece of their story. Today we’re featuring former Jezebel Ambassador, Jessey, who discovered new depths of bravery after her Jezebel shoot. Read on to learn how JVZ  impacted her life.

When did you do your shoot? January 2018

What did you do after your shoot that you never would have done before it? I think the biggest thing I did after my shoot is wear a see-through dress and pasties to PRIDE. I would have never done anything like that before my first shoot!  I was 40 years old and it was empowering to have the confidence to do that!

How did it make you feel? I was scared initially! But I was inspired by Sara and Kaitlyn doing it at some event so I just knew I had to do it! I had so many women come up to me and compliment me! I felt so empowered and confident! I never would have done that before my shoot.

Has anything changed since you did this brave thing? What has changed is that I no longer care what people think about my body. I wear what feels good to ME. I choose my clothes with only ME in mind. I am confident in my own skin even if I’m not perfect by society’s standards.

Did your Jezebel experience compel you to do anything else? I also chose to do my 2nd session (my Ambassador shoot) entirely on FB Live in the Future Belles group. I wanted to help women alleviate their fears. I gave full permission to Sara to do anything the women requested – including nudity! – so they could see what a loving and safe space JVZ provides for them.

What is the next brave thing you’re thinking about doing? As for my next brave thing I plan to do? I don’t know. How do I top that?!

Would you do either of those brave things again? Definitely. Because I’m all about experiencing life now! I want to do all the things I was afraid to do before. Or that I thought I couldn’t do before because of negative body image.
