02 Dec Client Feature Friday: Spellbinding in Seattle!
Jezebel VonZephyr loves to shine a spotlight on women of every age and size. We live to connect with each client; and we pride ourselves on holding space for each of them so we can hear her stories and capture her unique spirit. We believe that every session is special in its own way, and we want to share that magic with the world. On Fridays we shine a spotlight on a client so she can share a part of her story.
Today we feature a client from Seattle who we met at ECCC earlier this year. She had an amazing and spellbinding idea for her session! What was it? Read on to find out!
Where are you from? Seattle, WA
What is your theme song? I Am Woman by Emmy Meli
What are three words you’d use to describe yourself? Resilient, Fiery, Compassionate
Is this your first Jezebel shoot? If not, how many have you had? This was my very first Jezebel shoot or boudoir shoot of any kind!
Why did you decide to book a session with JVZ? I came across JVZ at Emerald City Comic Con, where they had a booth in the vendor hall. I visited their booth once and had a great conversation with Sara, Kaitlyn, and Tiffany where they told me all about their offerings and showed my different products. They originally were telling me a lot about the Fangirl session–which sounded so cool! I went home that day and thought about all the different fandoms I could potentially represent in a fun shoot and had way too many ideas.
I came back to their booth the next day after some thought and told Sara that I was ready to book, but I wanted to do a signature session because the fandom I wanted to support was my own!
What really sealed the deal for me was that I had been reflecting on how I’m moving away from the “maiden” part of my life and hopefully into the “mother” part. I can’t wait for my body to grow and change as I age, but I wanted to document it for how it is now.
How did you feel before your shoot? I was excited! I had been planning for the session for months, plus it was the day before my birthday!
I spent some time that week pampering myself and getting myself hyped for the session. I even created a Spotify playlist to listen to on the way to the studio called “Baby’s First Boudoir.”
How was your session? What was your favorite part? Tiffany and Sara made me feel like a damn Queen! Starting with the most amazing face and scalp massage, to helping me put on these incredible strappy shoes, to hyping me up at every turn.
I felt totally celebrated and seen.
My favorite moment was after my first outfit started to -ahem- become less and less of an outfit, Sara showed me one shot that was incredible! She hadn’t shown me a ton until that point since we were in a flow and having fun, so it was reassuring to be like “damn, I am SO HOT.”
From that moment on, it was super easy to trust the process and the team, since I knew I already had one shot I loved.
What was your favorite look from your session? Why? I had this amazing, bright red, strappy two-piece set and the team had me pose in the seasonal garden set with a gorgeous crown. When planning for the shoot, I had said that, if possible, I wanted to look powerful, sexy, and feminine. This outfit made me feel all three in spades!
How are you feeling since your session? I look at the images from my shoot literally all the time!
I knew based on the work I had seen that the images would be good, but I didn’t expect how sensual and confident they would make me feel, no matter how many times I have seen them before.
Every once in a while I pull them up and flip through them like it’s a spell for confidence and grounding.
Yes that is me, in my one and only magnificent body, thankyouverymuch!
Did you bring anything special with you to the studio? Why? I brought a bodice and skirt that I typically wear to Renaissance Faires. Those outfits are always my favorite things to wear, and I find myself wishing I could wear them in “real life.” I always feel a bit like I’m stepping into a character when I wear those clothes, so it was nice to wear them in the studio and try on that character’s confidence and poise.
How was your reveal? The reveal was so wonderful!
It was wild to see the final image translated from the moment I had experiences and then remembered. It was fun to have these shots where Sarah had so clearly captured what I was feeling, or had managed to get a little snippet of a tattoo or small smile. Even the small pieces of me had been witnessed.
Any advice for anyone thinking of booking a session with JVZ?
You are only going to exist in this body at this exact moment once. The fact that you are living and breathing is enough of a reason to celebrate your existence and document it!
If you are sitting in wait, with feelings of apprehension or curiosity, I encourage you to lean into the momentum and take a chance. Lend yourself a bit of the love you show others and book yourself a session.
Do you want to celebrate yourself? Are you looking for a way to be your own biggest fan? Take a cue from this Belle and book yourself a session. Jezebel VonZephyr will help you celebrate yourself in whatever way or ways you find most authentic! What are you waiting for? A spellbinding new chapter could be in your future!
