What is your theme song? It changes a lot. Currently though its between “Cinderella’s Dead” and “This Is How I Learn To Say No” both by the artist Emeline.
What are three words you’d use to describe yourself? Intense, Perspicacious, Ambitious
Is this your first Jezebel shoot? If not how many have you had? Yes
Why did you decide to book a session with JVZ? A friend of mine did a few sessions and seeing how beautiful her photos came out made me want to get my own done.
How did you feel before your shoot? Excited to try something new
How was your session? What was your favorite part? It was so much fun. My favorite part was seeing myself in a full face of makeup as I don’t regularly wear it, and just seeing how I look all dolled up was such a good feeling.
What was your favorite look from your session? Why? My favorite look was most certainly the pink robe with my floral bustier. Because my job is trade work I very rarely get to dress or look feminine and getting to be pretty in pink surprisingly made me feel quite gorgeous (especially with how often I say I hate pink).
How are you feeling since your session? Doing the shoot has resulted in me feeling a lot more empowered and good about myself. Coming out of an abusive marriage, doing this a year later really helped me see that not only can I do things just for myself but I can do it without feeling guilty. It honestly was my first real experience with self care and true body positivity.
Did you bring anything special with you to the studio? Why? How was your reveal? It was great. I was stunned at how I was able to look so powerful while looking so dainty and delicate all at the same time.
Any advice for anyone thinking of booking a session with JVZ? Just go for it. Be yourself, bring something fun that you feel confident in and let the magic happen.
Anything else you’d like to share? Soon as I can afford it, I’m doing it again because it is so fun and amazing.
