At Jezebel, we celebrate you. This encompasses every facet of who you are – who WE all are. We show you ways to see yourself through the lens of unconditional love, and we understand that some days it’s easy to appreciate ourselves, and other times it can be more of a challenge.
This is where we want to flip the script and really talk about what our bodies can do for us. Honest discussions can lead to acceptance, and acceptance can open our eyes to the possibilities of love.
Thursdays at Jezebel are all about tushies! Each week we’ll be showcasing some of our favorite images where they have a starring role. We’ll be discussing the challenges we face with an often disliked part of our bodies and hopefully turning those conversations towards ones of appreciation.
Nice Butt!
Let’s talk about butts for a second. We see them everywhere—on music videos, magazine covers, and social media feeds. Whether it’s the sculpted curves of a pop star or the peach emoji aesthetic of Instagram influencers, it can be easy to feel like our own butt isn’t measuring up. But here’s the real truth: your butt and those butts? Same butt. Same muscles, same function, same human realness. Some are lit by studio lights and polished in editing apps, others are sitting on couches binge-watching Netflix, and some are dancing in the kitchen in old sweatpants.
Each of them are valid.
Loving our bodies is a journey
Butts are amazing, am I right!? They’re not just about looks—though let’s be real, they do look fantastic in everything from jeans to yoga pants to literally nothing at all.
But beyond aesthetics, our butts are powerhouses! They’re the reason we’re able to walk, dance, climb stairs, twerk and go about our day being the badasses humans we are!
It’s important to remember, however, that your body is not a project or a trend—it’s your home. And you deserve to live in it with full authenticity. Allow yourself to take up the space you deserve, and when the days are tough, Jezebel is here to remind you – you’re perfect, just as you are ♥
