19 Dec Client Feature Friday: The Queen Awakens
Jezebel VonZephyr loves to shine a spotlight on women of every age and size. We live to connect with each client; and we pride ourselves on holding space for each of them so we can hear their stories and capture their unique spirit. We believe that every session is special in its own way, and we want to share that magic with the world. On Fridays we shine a spotlight on a client so they can share a part of their story.
Our featured Belle this week comes to us with PNW roots, a love for country and rock, and a spirit that’s equal parts creative, stubborn, and fiercely independent. In ‘The Queen Awakens’, we look at a session that had all the makings of something unforgettable.
With no expectations and an open heart, she decided to just go for it—and that decision set the stage for a session rooted in presence, play, and fully letting go.
Where are you from? Where do you live now? What’s your favorite thing about where you live?
I’m a PNW girl through and through. I grew up in South King Co. and currently live in Snohomish Co. My favorite thing about living here is the proximity to everything… beaches, mountains, forests, even deserts. We have it all.
What are some of your favorite songs/artists? Do you have a theme song–if so, what is it and why does that song(s) resonate with you?
Country and Rock are my genres. For country George Strait and Reba are number one. For rock, it depends on my mood. Queen of the Damned soundtrack is a good one. Anything by Poison also works.
What are three words you’d use to describe yourself?
Creative. Stubborn. Independent
Is this your first Jezebel session? If not, how many have you had and in either instance, what was your favorite part?
This was my first session, and the best part was just letting go. There was no work stress or relationship stress. The only thing on my mind was staying in the moment. ♥
What made you want to have a boudoir session and what made you choose Jezebel as your studio?
Curiosity. I saw an ad on Facebook for a place that was nowhere near me. I did a Google search and found Jezebel. I liked the name and that the photos on your site looked like real people. What sold me though was the phone call. I was put at ease and decided to just go for it.
What were your expectations going into the session and was the experience different or as you expected and how?
I don’t know that I had any expectations. It was about finding myself and experiencing something new. The whole experience was beyond anything I could have imagined. I felt like I was there with two great friends, not strangers. There was no need to hide parts of me out hold back. Every word spoken felt genuine, every moment positive.
Tell me about your session–your favorite set? outfit? prop? moment? favorite studio piece you used/wore? What stood out the most?
Oh my! I had so much fun in the rain room! I loved playing with the water. Some of the poses made me giggle… the lotion I put on earlier that day made me slip and slide a bit. Bringing in my sword and posing in the cat room was also fun. Outfit wise, I was most comfortable in the red. Two things stood out for me… 1. I truly let go and lived in the moment. I wasn’t holding in my stomach or over-thinking the poses. I just did what Sara asked and had fun. 2. The feeling stayed with me! I couldn’t stop smiling. I wanted to tell all of my women friends about it. I wanted all of them to feel that feeling I was having.
How did you feel about the guidance you received during the session?
It was a perfect mix of encouragement and direction. The compliments didn’t feel forced and it was not rushed. The guidance came at the right times, with the right words and the right pace.
Tell us about your hair styling/makeup application? How was your time in the chair? What did you really love?
Nikki was great… she listened to what I said about the look and elevated it. She was fun and encouraging as well.
How do you feel JVZ managed your privacy and confidentiality, both of your images and of you during your time with us?
Perfection! I was never concerned with someone walking in.
How were you feeling leaving the studio and leading up to your photo reveal appointment?
I was flying high when I left and couldn’t wait to see the results. It felt like it was so long between the two appointments. The first week was rough and the day of I was watching that clock!
How was your reveal appointment? What did you like the most about it? What did you take home with you?
The reveal appointment was so good! It was well paced, organized and the technology cooperated with us! The photos were all so wonderful; even the ones where I see my “flaws”, I could also see the beauty. I could see the genuine smile and the laughter in my eyes. I could see the sexy side and the sensual; the powerful and soft. Everything I could have wanted out of this experience, I got and more. I got the biggest catalog item because I couldn’t imagine leaving any part of the experience behind.
Have you had any lasting impact/perspective shifts since your appointment? If so, please share as much as you’re comfortable with.
I think that shift will build now that I have the images… the positivity I felt during and immediately after the appointment faded a bit as reality came back into focus. Now that I have the photos I can look at any time, I can use those to bring those feelings back into focus. I want to see my own beauty and not be so critical of myself. I want to own those joyful moments and share that real side of me. I want to let go and live my best life. I think having these photos as proof of the possibilities will get me there.
Other than “just do it”, what advice would you offer a friend interested in a session to book with Jezebel? What tips might you give? What were the best tips you received either from us or from others?
Trust yourself. Give them a call and have that conversation and go with your gut. Bring props that are meaningful to you; something that makes you smile or brings you comfort. Buy something new to wear in your favorite color.
Anything else you’d like to share?
This was an investment in myself that I will absolutely do again ♥
