06 Jun Ready to Reopen! PHASE 2 IS HERE!!!!!

It’s been a little while…but we’re excited to announce that we’re back! We’ve missed everyone these past few months. We missed putting together adorable outfits and coaching clients and helping women to shine. We’ve missed being behind the camera and helping women to look their best.
Coming back to the studio in the midst of Covid-19 is going to be different. We have always taken your safety seriously. In the face of the pandemic, we are even more committed to giving you the safest, most sanitary, and empowering experience possible. We are well-versed in all of the health protocols that we must put in place and we’re more than happy to follow them because we love our clients and the work we do. We’ve become very familiar with the CDC guidelines and how they impact our work and sessions. So we’ve made some changes to how we do shoots.
Because of the new protocols we’ve to put in place – and also because we are exercising an abundance of caution for the safety of everyone – we will be limited in the number of sessions we can do each week. With the pre- and post-sanitizing that we must do we have to wait 24 hours in between each client. This limits us to four photo shoots a week – at most. Additionally, due to the extra time and energy we must put in with all of our new processes, we are implementing a small Safety & Sanitation fee. In order to keep everyone as safe as possible, we want to limit the amount of time we spend at the studio, so all consultations and reveals will be held virtually. This helps to keep us all safe, which makes us feel good. We also want to note that Jezebel VonZephyr reserves the right to refuse any client if they will not cooperate with our policies and procedures. Our sessions are meant to be a fun, empowering experience and we cannot do our best work if clients will not take our safety seriously.

In the studio:
As we ready our gorgeous studio for reopening, we’ve made some changes to the space. We will no longer have a hydration station available to clients. Instead there will be a sanitization station available for you to use when you come in. We’ve also eliminated benches so clients will no longer be able to wait in our hallway, which helps to cut down on contact between people. On a smaller scale we’ve replaced all of the luxurious velvet hangers in our closet with plastic ones because those are easier to sanitize after a session.
All of our sets will be sanitized before and after each session. We will be washing anything that clients touch including clothes, accessories, props and set pieces. The client closet may also have a more limited selection because some of our dresses and fancier items will need to be dry cleaned or more carefully sanitized; because that can take time some pieces will not be available for many sessions. If there’s a dress or specific item you hope to wear during your shoot make sure you speak with us about it so we can try to make accommodations for you. We can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to reserve every piece your heart desires, but we’ll do what we can to make sure you have the session of your dreams!
Before your session:
Our contract will now include a waiver that you must sign stating that you understand the risk you take when coming to a session. When you arrive at the studio, we ask that you wait in your car until we call you up. Before you come in you’ll need to put on a mask. (You’ll take it off once we begin doing your makeup.) There will be a sanitizing station by the door, which you’ll need to use. Once you come into our space we’ll take your temperature and write it down. (We will also be taking our temperatures and monitoring them as a part of our daily practices.) We will also ask you some questions to make sure that you’re feeling healthy and ready to rock your session. These questions include: do you have a cough or fever? Have you been exposed to anyone who’s had Covid-19 in the past two weeks? If you answer yes to any of our questions then we’ll need to reschedule your appointment. There will be no rescheduling fee if we ask to reschedule.
Hair and makeup:
Tiffany is following all state requirements and taking every precaution to make sure that exposure is as minimal as possible while still giving you an enjoyable experience. All brushes will be washed, sanitized and disinfected before and after a session. She will only use one set of brushes per client to further minimize contact. Additionally Tiffany will also be wearing a mask, face shield and long sleeves throughout the hair and makeup process. While this may feel awkward, she is doing this out of an abundance of caution (and because she’s following new state guidelines for safety and sanitation for cosmetologists and estheticians) in order to keep you both safe and feeling good.

Hair and makeup sessions will look a little different now. But you’ll still be in very capable, caring hands!
During the session:
We will be keeping contact to a minimum. We’ll still be giving you coaching and posing tips and advice, but we won’t be able to touch you as much – just to make adjustments to your hair, accessories and wardrobe. The good news is that the compliments will still be flowing and the positive affirmations won’t stop! (They just might be a little muffled from behind our masks!)
Post-session:
If you get a fever or begin to feel sick after your session please let us know. This will help us keep ourselves and others we’ve seen safe and informed. Your reveal will take place through Zoom, a video conference website, instead of in-person. This helps to cut down on contact so we can continue to stay safe and healthy and help many women rock their sessions.
What you need to do in preparation:
Sign the clause in your contract waiving studio responsibility and pay the Safety & Sanitation Fee. Talk with the team during your consultation about possible studio pieces you’d like to wear. Monitor yourself in the days leading up to your shoot: check your temperature, pay attention to your health and make sure you’re limiting contact with people. Pack everything you want to wear at your session–we recommend washing it before coming to the studio. Bring a mask with you to your session. Use the sanitizer station when you arrive at the studio. And please remember to breathe. We know that this might feel overwhelming, but we are here for you. We will still be giving clients the same amount of care and communication as we did before, so you’ll get some in-depth reminders and explicit instructions before your session. We recognize that this is a lot and we don’t expect you to remember all of this.
We’re navigating new terrain as we return to the studio in the midst of a pandemic. We know that life can feel scary and stressful because we feel those things, too. Our hope is that a session can be a reprieve from the world and help you to remember who you are. The protocols we now have in place are new and may feel strange. But even with these new safety measures, the heart of a Jezebel VonZephyr session remains the same. We are here to help you shine. We exist to allow you to stand in your light. We’re reopening so you can return to yourself and give yourself the love you deserve. Self-love is needed now more than ever before. We can’t wait to give you that gift.
