Client Feature Friday: Seeing Her Beauty for the First Time

Client Feature Friday: Seeing Her Beauty for the First Time

Sometimes the hardest person to convince you're beautiful is yourself.

After a hysterectomy left her struggling to recognize the beauty everyone else already saw, Miss S. decided it was finally time to do something she had dreamed about for years. What she found inside the studio wasn't just confidence—it was proof that she was still powerful, sexy, beautiful, and wholly herself.

This week's feature is one of those stories.

Jezebel VonZephyr loves shining a spotlight on women of every age, every size, and every story. We live for the connection that happens inside these walls—the kind that turns nerves into confidence, vulnerability into power, and moments into something unforgettable.

Every session is its own kind of magic… and on Fridays, we share that magic with you.

This week’s featured Belle is 39 years old, calls Auburn, Washington home, and finally decided to say yes to something she’d dreamed about for years. After undergoing a hysterectomy and struggling to see the beauty everyone else saw in her, she chose to invest in herself and discover what confidence could look like on the other side.

Meet Miss S.

Miss S. walked into the studio carrying a story so many women know intimately—the feeling of being your own harshest critic. She wasn’t looking for perfection. She was looking for proof that she was still beautiful, still worthy, and still capable of feeling sexy and confident in her own skin.

And what she found?

A Red Room adventure, a little firepower, a lot of laughter, and a version of herself she hadn’t seen in a very long time.

She came in nervous and without expectations. She left feeling empowered, uplifted, and seeing herself in an entirely new light.

Because sometimes the most powerful transformation isn’t changing who you are…

It’s finally seeing the woman who was there all along.

Where are you from? Where do you live now? What’s your favorite thing about where you live?

Auburn, WA. I love that Auburn is close to so many rivers and not far from the mountains and countryside where im happiest.

There’s something special about women who feel most at home under open skies, surrounded by rivers, mountains, and wide-open spaces. That grounded, adventurous spirit showed up throughout Miss S.’s entire session—and we loved every minute of it.

What made you want to have a boudoir session and choose Jezebel?

I have wanted to do a boudoir shoot for many years and I decided to finally do it since having a hysterectomy a year ago and needed the uplift to see the beauty that everyone else sees that I didnt.

This answer stopped us in our tracks. So many women come to us carrying the weight of major life changes, wondering if they’ll ever see themselves the same way again. Watching Miss S. reconnect with her confidence and recognize the beauty that’s been there all along was an absolute honor.

What was your favorite part of your session?

The empowerment I felt during the session.

The photos are wonderful, timeless pieces of art—but this right here is why we do what we do. Empowerment isn’t something we hand to our clients. It’s something they discover was inside them all along.

What were your expectations going into the session and was the experience different or as you expected and how?

I was nervous and didn’t have any expectations but left feeling uplifted and seeing myself in a whole new light.

Your nerves are welcome here. You don’t have to show up feeling confident—you just have to show up. The confidence comes after.

Tell me about your session–your favorite set? outfit? prop? moment? favorite studio piece you used/wore? What stood out the most?

The red room was so much fun and I love every photo that was taken there and love the outfit Sara put together for me to wear. I felt so sexy!

The Red Room was made for moments like this. Sultry, playful, bold, and completely unapologetic. Seeing Miss S. step into that energy—and absolutely own it—was one of our favorite parts of her session day.

How did you feel about the guidance you received during the session?

I love that I was placed in very flattering positions and the uplifting comments to bring out my confidence.

One of the biggest misconceptions about boudoir is that you need to know how to pose. You don’t. This is actually, 100% our job. Every pose, every expression, every tiny adjustment is guided so you can focus on enjoying the experience and feeling amazing. We can see you at angles you can’t ever see yourself from.

Tell us about your hairstyling/makeup application? How was your time in the chair? What did you really love?

Nikki was amazing! We had a fun time laughing and talking while she did my hair and makeup and turned me into a stunning masterpiece.

Hair and makeup is never just hair and makeup at Jezebel. It’s the first exhale of the day—the moment you get to sit down, be pampered, laugh, connect, and slowly start seeing the woman who’s about to step in front of the camera. Nikki has over a decade in the industry and also teaches on the side. She didn’t just create a look for Miss S.; she helped set the tone for the confidence that followed.

How were you feeling leaving the studio and leading up to your photo reveal appointment?

I left feeling like a beautiful queen and was anxious awaiting the photo reveal.

The wait between your session and reveal appointment can feel like forever; in reality it is between 1-3 weeks. Occasionally longer but that is pretty rare. Equal parts excitement, curiosity, and anticipation. Reveals are some of the best parts of this process. A place for it all to come together to see the magic we made in it’s completed form.

How was your reveal appointment? What did you like the most about it? What did you take home with you?

I cried at the reveal! I had no idea it was possible for me to look that beautiful.

There are moments we’ll never forget as artists, and this is always one of them. We will cry with you. Every time. This moment right here, is really why we do this work, watching women heal. Sometimes the most emotional part isn’t seeing the photos; it’s finally seeing yourself the way everyone else has always seen you.

Other than “just do it”, what advice would you offer a friend interested in a session to book with Jezebel? What tips might you give? What were the best tips you received either from us or from others?

Go into the shoot with the mindset to just have fun! You will have a blast! You will find your comfort level will grow very quickly through the session and by the end you will wish it wasn’t over yet just as I did.

Honestly? This might be some of the best advice we’ve ever received from a client. The women who have the most fun are rarely the ones who arrive feeling the most confident—they’re the ones who give themselves permission to enjoy the experience and show up for themselves.

What are some of your favorite songs/artists? Do you have a theme song–if so, what is it and why does that song(s) resonate with you

My Playlist varies so much between genres that there isn’t any specific song or artist. But right now I’m really enjoying Jelly Roll and my favorite song by him is “She“. It resonates with me because it WAS me years ago

Music has a funny way of marking different chapters of our lives. We love that Miss S. can look back at that song now and recognize just how far she’s come. The growth is the point.

Anything else you’d like to share?

Be sure when you purchase your package that you are aware of how many photos your choosing…. because how can you not choose them all?!

We laughed out loud when we read this one. Fair warning to future clients: you are your new favorite and it’s super common for all of your images to go home with you.

Sometimes confidence isn’t about becoming someone new-it’s about finally seeing the woman who was there all along.

Her session began with nerves and ended with tears—not because she was sad, but because she finally saw herself through a kinder lens. Between the confidence she found in front of the camera, the fun she had stepping outside her comfort zone, and the pride she carries today, Miss S’s story is proof that boudoir isn’t just about photographs. It’s about reclaiming the way you see yourself and embracing the beauty that’s always been there.

Were you inspired by this client’s session? Are you ready to step into your own version of confidence—not someday, but right now? Whether you’re seeking affirmation, rediscovering your body, or just wanting to feel like the sexiest version of yourself…
