04 Jun Client Feature Friday: Corsets and Cruises and Cuteness! Oh my!
Jezebel VonZephyr works with all kinds of women, from all over the Pacific Northwest and beyond. We love connecting with each client, hearing their stories and capturing their unique spirit. We believe that each session is special in its own way, and we want to share that magic with the world. Every Friday we’ll feature one of our clients and share a little about her.
This week’s Belle hails from Olympia, Washington, and has done several sessions with JVZ. We fell in love with her corset collection, adventurous, fun-loving spirit, and stories from her time at Disneyland. Let’s learn more about this tough Jungle Cruisin’ cookie!
How old are you? 36
Where are you from? Olympia, WA
What is your theme song? Probably Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield
What are three words you’d use to describe yourself? I’m a tomboy who likes to be a girly girl: a little bit country, and a little bit rock and roll!
Is this your first Jezebel shoot? If not, how many have you had? I’ve had three so far – and they’ve all been an experience!
Why did you decide to book a session with JVZ? I’d done a boudoir session in the past, but Jezebel had a good deal, was an inclusive and female-based team, spoke to my nerd (I found them at ECCC – Emerald City Comic Con), and provided photos as part of their package – which lots of other economical boudoir studios or shoots don’t provide.
How did you feel before your shoot? Before my first I was a little nervous – I knew that I would have fun, but I brought so much stuff so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
How was your session? What was your favorite part? I have loved all of my sessions, the best part of all of them have really been Sara and Tiffany. They have so much energy and love to give! Over the last three years they’ve helped me find my voice and though I’m still learning to use it, I’m definitely becoming more vocal in what I need to say.
What was your favorite look from your session? Why? From my most recent session, it probably has to be my Jungle Cruise-themed look. The hat is from my time working at Disneyland on the Jungle Cruise, and the corset and shoes are mine. They did a great job of styling it – it was so beautiful! It was such fun to have that part of my past memorialized in such a beautiful way.
How are you feeling since your session? I love the boudoir sessions and my photos. They’re probably the beginning of my boudoir addiction!
Did you bring anything special with you to the studio? Why? When we did the pre-session consultation call to see what “theme” and “look” I wanted we discussed things and then I just packed. I own more than a dozen corsets, participate in the Society of Creative Anachronism, do renaissance festivals, and own all kinds of interesting steampunk trinkets, and then there’s my normal clothes – which includes a number of shoes, bras, and slips. When I bring things, I somehow end up packing most of my closet!
How was your reveal? I love the photo reveal – the slide show is such a blast to view! Looking at all of those photos and seeing how great Sara and Tiffany make me look – and then realizing that most of that is me is really awesome!
Any advice for anyone thinking of booking a session with JVZ? It’s worth it, regardless about how you think you look, Sara and Tiffany will bring out your most radiant self
