Client Feature Friday: Be Seen, Be Supported, Be Celebrated!

Jezebel VonZephyr works with all kinds of women, from the suburbs of Seattle to all over the Pacific Northwest and beyond. We love connecting with each client, hearing her stories and capturing her unique spirit. We believe that every session is special in its own way, and we want to share that magic with the world. On Fridays we shine a spotlight on a client so she can share a part of her story. 

Today’s Belle decided to do a Jezebel VonZephyr session because she’s entering a new chapter in her life. She thought that a boudoir shoot would be not only fun, but that it might help her to remind her of her power. This may have been her first shoot, but she is a total natural in front of the camera. Oh, how she shines!

Age:  54. I am proud of my age. I earned every year!

Where are you from? I grew up in southeastern Idaho. Then I lived in Montana and a few years in Arkansas. I have been on the Kitsap peninsula for 16 years. 

What is your theme song? I didn’t have one until my reveal appointment. Now it is “Enchantress” by 2 Steps from Hell. That is the song my pictures were put to and it really suits me, my power, and all my changing moods. Added bonus: Enchantress was a nickname someone gave me when I was younger! 

What are three words you’d use to describe yourself?  Compassionate, sensual, original. 

Is this your first Jezebel shoot? If not, how many have you had? This is my first.

Why did you decide to book a session with JVZ? First of all, it looked fun! But also, I am at a crossroads in my life. I have been stuck there for quite a while but I recently found a new direction and a new career passion. I wanted to see my power to inspire me to keep stepping out of my current life into something more amazing.

How did you feel before your shoot? I was really nervous at first. I had a long drive and I am glad for that time because it helped me to get more settled and into the moment. 

What was your favorite look from your session? Why? The Goddess of the Sea was my favorite. I made the costume and when I wore it for the performance, we only got a couple pictures of me in it, sitting on her throne. It was satisfying to see all those flowing layers like water.  The presence and power of that energy was amazing. And Tiffany running the blowdryer to make my hair blow like that made me laugh with delight.

How are you feeling since your session? I keep remembering what a great day it was and feeling seen and appreciated and admired. I told them I wanted to feel powerful and ready to move forward with my life and these pictures have helped me feel that. I have had fun sharing them! 

Did you bring anything special with you to the studio? Why? I brought an amethyst crystal cluster that had been treated with titanium so it has the rock base, the purple crystals, and a shiny, iridescent finish. I bought it for myself after I had an experience where I had felt especially sexy and desirable. I use it to remind me that I can be “ooh! Shiny!” 

I also brought a couple of leopard print items. That print has always reminded me that no matter how civilized I am, I am also wild. I don’t belong in any cage. 

How was your reveal? My reveal had a few happy tears! There were several pictures that made me think, “Oh!! That’s what people see in me.” There were aspects of me as a woman, as a powerful goddess, and as a lover in my pictures and I loved that. It was amazing to see me joyful! 

I also appreciated that they were ready to remove any pictures that made me feel bad. There was one I asked them to remove and they did it immediately. 

Any advice for anyone thinking of booking a session with JVZ? Don’t let yourself think too hard about what to bring or how you have been taught to fear your appearance. Think about how it will feel to be in a safe space with supportive people, being seen and celebrated. You are worthy of that joy. 

Anything else you want to share about your session and/or experience? I have enjoyed this so much and I have so many pictures I have enjoyed sharing with my friends.
