29 Jul All About the JVZ Team!
🎉🎉🎉 It’s Jezebel’s birthday this week! 🎉🎉🎉
To celebrate, we thought it’d be a good idea to re-introduce the entire team! Each woman plays a big role in making Jezebel the epic boudoir studio and community that it is. And we ask a lot of questions of you, our clients, before and at their sessions, so it’s only fair that you learn a little more about each of us!
So without further adieu, let’s meet lovely ladies of the Jezebel team!
Sara, Owner & Founder
What emoji best describes you? Hmmm…..like most humans, I’m an emoji hodgepodge….the ones I use a lot are the red heart, the cry laughing, the face palm, the wide eyed and the hands up idk…..a solid mix of general happiness and wtf is happening. Seems to be the trend for the last couple of years.
Brag yourself up! What are two things you’re really, really ridiculously good at?
-
Well….I take these pretty photos and people seem to really like them. Photography has always been a passion of mine and I have a deep love for capturing time, space, shape. We all morph and change as humans both inside and outside of our bodies and one of my favorite things is being able to see those changes in a photo. Sometimes my body hasnt really changed much but I can see the changes in my energy, my heart right there on my face and I know our clients experience this too. The capability to hold a moment in your hand is precious to me. I am the keeper of my family’s entire photo history and proud to do so.

I’m a deep empath and having the ability to care and feel for others has always been part of who I am. I started my life thinking I wanted to be a veterinarian and then swapped that for lawyer and then ended up a mental health lover….I went to college for psychology and photography. My two big loves. The way the mind works is fascinating to me and more so the way it heals. Helping facilitate change in others that are desperate for it,only to watch it change their lives has been one of the greatest events to witness. We all hold so much power in our bones and most of us have been taught to be afraid of that power or control it in a socially acceptable way. I love giving people permission to be wild.
If you could pick up a new skill in an instant, what would it be and why? Patience. This is such a hard thing for me. I think this is why I ended up a photographer and not a painter. Waiting for magic is hard for me. And when I snap a photo I have part of the magic captured in my little box already just waiting for the editing bits to happen. I make a lot of decisions at the last minute and live semi-spontaneously. I also know I’m a bit low in this skill so it’s something I work on all the time and keep at the forefront of my mind especially when I’m aware I’m being impatient. Squirmy like a 3 year old I am ๐
Your favorite snack? Ice cream. Almost all kinds but my absolute favorites are Birthday Cake Remix from Coldstone, or Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough from Ben & Jerrys or Dryers Rocky Road. That Rocky Road has been impossible for me to find since before COVID though. It’s the best one because it has chocolate covered peanuts mixed in and for whatever reason the other brands don’t. Ice cream is a major food group.
Desert island question: what three things would you absolutely need to have with you if you were stuck on a deserted island? My first instinct is a full bookshelf of “To Be Read” books I have hand selected. That’s one item right? Presuming I have food and water and ya know, life managed….I would also need my record player and all my records. I’m guessing people and pets are off the list so my final thing would be Robin Williams as genie in a lamp. That should just about cover it.
If you could have any animal as a pet what would you have? I have two amazing Bernese Mountain Dogs and they were the type of dog I dreamed of as a child. To have that dream fulfilled and have them be really amazing dogs is such a blessing. Aside from them, I need a Wooly Mammoth. Snuggly, tough, transport possible.
What would be the name of your autobiography? As a person that has an autobiography inside them begging to be released I have pondered this question so many many times and don’t have a solid answer. But I do have an opening line for you: “Once upon a time, a feminist, atheist queen was born in jeans, flip flops and a hoodie.”
If you could only celebrate one holiday for the rest of your life what would it be? Summer. I know most think it’s a season, but it is my favorite time of the year. The days are longer, the nights are warm. We can sleep outside. We can live outside. I don’t really care too much about summer holidays, like Independence Day isn’t that big of a deal for me and never has been. However, summer as a whole is a vibe that I just can’t shake my bones of. Born in northern California, I think the sun is just in my bones.
If you ran the world, what is the first thing you would do?
-
Give women back their rights.
-
Once we’ve established women are people then we can feed everyone and give them a warm bed. I can be both the “give peace a chance” girl and “fuck around and find out” so it’s really tough to say how I’d handle the “resistance” but generally speaking I’d want everyone to have the basic things they need to live and THRIVE not just survive. I dream of what kind of world we’d live in if everyone woke up tomorrow thriving. If we all just suddenly had “enough”. Truly from that standpoint humanity has a chance to really do something spectacular. What would you create from that place?

What emoji best describes you? 💖 + 🦄 (I cannot choose just one.)
Brag yourself up! What are two things you’re really, really ridiculously good at? I’m great at reading oracle cards. It’s something I intuitively took to about five years ago and now I use it as a vehicle for reflection and to help friends look at things from different angles! I’m also pretty damn good at rocking red lipstick!
If you could pick up a new skill in an instant, what would it be and why? The ability to learn new languages instantly. Then I could make friends everywhere!
Your favorite snack? Anything with cheese. Oooh, I’d like some cheese right now… (Tiffany, will you share your charcuterie board with me????)
Desert island question: what three things would you absolutely need to have with you if you were stuck on a deserted island? A Kindle so I would have lots of reading material. A journal and pen so I could write whenever the mood struck. And a yacht so I can stay out of the sun and have a proper place to sleep!
If you could have any animal as a pet what would you have? A honey badger!!! I love that animal so much! I’d also like penguins, Scottish highland cows, a hedgehog and about 11 dogs!
What would be the name of your autobiography? Hello Lovely!
If you could only celebrate one holiday for the rest of your life what would it be? Spooky Season. When the leaves start changing and the breezes begin to feel chilly I start celebrating! It’s a special time of year for me and is my definition of a holiday. Get cozy, sip a yummy drink (hot chai with coconut or the typical PSL for me!), and let the reflection and creativity begin!
If you ran the world, what is the first thing you would do? Call me Robin Hood because I’d love to redistribute wealth to make sure that everyone had enough money and resources to take care of their needs and then pursue their passions. Everyone deserves to live a life where they aren’t stressed about how they’re going to pay their bills and survive. Everyone deserves the chance to thrive. The world would be a much better place if people could rest and do the things they love.
