13 Dec Client Feature Friday: When the Stars Align
Jezebel VonZephyr loves to shine a spotlight on womxn of every age and size. We live to connect with each client; and we pride ourselves on holding space for each of them so we can hear their stories and capture their unique spirit. We believe that every session is special in its own way, and we want to share that magic with the world. On Fridays we shine a spotlight on a client so they can share a part of their story.
Welcome back to a new episode of Client Feature Friday!
Our star this week is a kind and witty Mariners fan who hails from the land of the GOONIES!
Fall is spectacular in the Pacific Northwest, and the crisp mornings and beautiful colors of the changing seasons top the list of why this Belle loves living in the area.
Upon receiving a challenge to do something out of her comfort-zone that would bring positive changes to her life, our Belle happened upon one of Jezebel’s contests when browsing through Facebook. After speaking with the team, she took that leap of faith – leaving behind her comfort-zone and landing in a community where she felt seen, loved and beautiful โฅ
Where are you from? Where do you live now? What’s your favorite thing about where you live?
I was born in the town of Goonies! Astoria Oregon. I now live in Lake Stevens. Currently I absolutely love the FALL colors around the NW this time of year. The crisp colder mornings with the beautiful colors and how the mountains are so blue. Stunning!
What are some of your favorite songs/artists? Do you have a theme song–if so, what is it and why does that song(s) resonate with you?
There are so many, I love pretty much all music. I think music has so much power. It can make you feel so many emotions depending on the moment. It can help heal, motivate, celebrate, mourn, laugh…. I am moved by music. The first one that resonates with me is FEAR is a Liar. When I am up against a challenge or self doubt, it helps remind me.
What are three words youโd use to describe yourself?ย
Kind, Loyal, Witty
Is this your first Jezebel session? If not, how many have you had and in either instance, what was your favorite part?ย ย
This was my first session. That is hard to answer, as overall the entire session was great. I would have to say having my hair, makeup and outfits put together – having someone else see something in me that I didn’t, and how they made me feel beautiful.
What made you want to have a boudoir session and what made you choose Jezebel as your studio?
I was given a self-challenge to do something out of my comfort zone, to help embrace body image. I guess you could say “the stars aligned” I was scrolling Facebook and saw the opportunity to win a free session with Jezebel. It took me a couple days to get the courage to sign up. Even though I did not “win” the prize, I still feel like I won. After talking with them over the phone, I knew I would book a session. The positive energy and the message of who they are is beautiful.
What were your expectations going into the session and was the experience different or as you expected and how?ย
I went in with an open mind and tried not to set any expectations. After it was done, all I can say is that its 100% worth the experience.
Tell me about your session–your favorite set? outfit? prop? moment? favorite studio piece you used/wore? What stood out the most?
The Mariners jersey with me on the wall, I love the last photo of my session where you captured my eyes looking up, I felt seen in that one. All the props were fun – being my first session just the overall experience was great. Trying all new things and poses and outfits. I look forward to another session in the future and trying new things.
How did you feel about the guidance you received during the session?ย ย
Being I have never done this before, and I was putting myself in a VERY uncomfortable, vulnerable position, the guidance, support, and environment was amazing. I loved that you nailed my music selection!!
Tell us about your hair styling/makeup application? How was your time in the chair? What did you really love?ย
It was nice to have that time to settle in and relax before. I loved my hair! I don’t use a lot of makeup day to day, and I felt beautiful but not overdone. Such a relaxed comfortable experience.
How do you feel JVZ managed your privacy and confidentiality, both of your images and of you during your time with us?ย ย
100% managed with professionalism
How were you feeling leaving the studio and leading up to your photo reveal appointment?ย
I left feeling beautiful and excepted and seen, and seen beyond the body. I felt excited but nervous to see the reveal, on my journey of self love, its a balance to stay open hearted and minded to the process with out criticism .
How was your reveal appointment? What did you like the most about it? What did you take home with you?ย
The reveal moved me to tears, to see myself from a different view point. The whole process of the reveal was wonderful. JVZ helped open my eyes to a version of me I thought I lost. It was not rushed. I cant say enough good things about JVZ experience.
Have you had any lasting impact/perspective shifts since your appointment? If so, please share as much as you’re comfortable with.ย
Not that I can explain well enough
Other than “just do it”, what advice would you offer a friend interested in a session to book with Jezebel? What tips might you give? What were the best tips you received either from us or from others?ย
Take a leap of faith to treat yourself – Life is so busy and we give so much to so many we wear all kinds of hats. Take the self love moment to be pampered, encouraged, and seen in a way that will make you pause and say, I know her I see her. Its way more then a photo shoot, Its an experience. LOL Just do it ๐
Anything else you’d like to share?ย
I am so thankful that the opportunity came across for me – Thank you Jezebel! What you bring to everyone – unconditional acceptance, encouragement , and support are amazing.
This clientโs story really shows how impactful a boudoir photoshoot can be in embracing self-love.ย Her session with JVZ wasnโt just about taking beautiful photos; it helped her jump out of her comfort-zone and into a community where she felt seen, heard and beautiful.
These feelings of empowerment can lead to incredible, lasting changes in our lives. When we can truly love ourselves, we can share these sentiments with others through genuine acts of kindness, taking time to admire the small things in our daily lives and spreading encouragement to those around us.
