Client Feature Friday: Lightsabers, Pirate Swords & A Giant Skull!

Jezebel VonZephyr loves to shine a spotlight on women of every age and size. We live to connect with each client; and we pride ourselves on holding space for each of them so we can hear her stories and capture her unique spirit. We believe that every session is special in its own way, and we want to share that magic with the world. On Fridays we shine a spotlight on a client so she can share a part of her story.

Today we feature a fun-loving Redmond resident that we met at Emerald City Comic Con! We love vending at ECCC because we meet the most creative and spirited women there. This Belle is no exception! She came to play with her pirate gear and Star Wars lightsabers and had an amazing time! Read on to learn why she decided to do a Jezebel session!

Where are you from? I’m from Redmond, Washington. 

What are three words you’d use to describe yourself? Creative, compassionate, and fun!

Is this your first Jezebel shoot? If not, how many have you had? It was my first! But it is not my last. 

Why did you decide to book a session with JVZ?  After looking at the images at Emerald City Comic Con, I was encouraged to see all ages and body types looking so great!  So I decided that it was time to try something different. It also made a great gift for my husband.

How did you feel before your shoot? Nervous, and a little silly. How good could my older ass look really?

How was your session? What was your favorite part? It was wonderful.  I loved getting my makeup done, having my pieces oohed and aaahed over was cool, and the laughing was the best.  I also loved how the posing was handled – I always felt comfortable in how I was moving!

What was your favorite look from your session? Why? My pirate outfits.  Some of the pieces I bought, some I made – these are always my favorite cosplay moments. I was wearing pieces from artists that I love, and stuff I was proud of. Then you all did some magic with things you have, and it just came together wonderfully! And I really want the giant skull used in one of my sets!

How are you feeling since your session? Honestly, a little more confident.

I did not know I could look like my pictures!

Did you bring anything special with you to the studio? Why? I do a lot of cosplay and renaissance fairs.  So I brought my favorite pirate outfits and one of my favorite Star Wars pieces (that I made). 

I also brought my beloved pirate hat, which is decorated with a lot of meaningful pieces from friends, and two of my swords (one was  hand-forged metal).  

I also brought my lightsaber. I have loved Star Wars since I saw the premier of New Hope opening weekend 1977.  

I brought all this with me because the history of pirates, especially women and Jewish pirates, is totally fascinating to me. And I do love wearing lots of pretty and gold!  🙂

How was your reveal? So well done!  I was shocked by the quality.  My husband was so cute – at first he was hanging back and just peeking over once in a while.  By the end he was sitting right next to me and asking how much he could purchase! I felt so good about how everything turned out.  I also loved the day before vote and reveal in the Belle’s Facebook group – I make sure to participate for everyone else since I know how much fun it was for me!

Any advice for anyone thinking of booking a session with JVZ? Relax and enjoy the moment. 

Don’t worry about the outcome! JVZ is so professional they will handle that.  Just enjoy the moment and allow yourself to be spoiled!

From the music to the care that everyone took with me to the reveal, I could not have asked for a better experience.
