Client Feature Friday: Giggles, Glamour, & Grabbing Life by the Horns!

Jezebel VonZephyr loves to shine a spotlight on women of every age and size. We live to connect with each client; and we pride ourselves on holding space for each of them so we can hear her stories and capture her unique spirit. We believe that every session is special in its own way, and we want to share that magic with the world. On Fridays we shine a spotlight on a client so she can share a part of her story. 

Today we feature a Kentucky native who’s wanted to do a boudoir session for a while. She came to the studio, got glamorous and we think she may have had the time of her life! Let’s hear how her experience was! 

Age: I turned 34 years young the week before my shoot!

Where are you from? I was born and raised in Kentucky but moved after I turned 23 to become a travel nurse.

What is your theme song? Great Question! I think it has to be Florence and the Machine’s song, “Rabbit Heart” … or “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid

What are three words you’d use to describe yourself? Sensitive, Spontaneous, Adventurous 

Is this your first Jezebel shoot? If not, how many have you had? Yes, it was my first shoot!

Why did you decide to book a session with JVZ? I heard lots of amazing reviews online and I really wanted to do a boudoir shoot.

I decided that after having a baby, I wanted to be a good example to my kiddo by grabbing life by the horns and doing things you want to do without any excuses (unless reasonably necessary of course)!

How did you feel before your shoot? I was PUMPED! The occasional nervous butterfly wings settled in my stomach for a brief moment but I got over it quickly and went back to thinking of what pose I was most excited to try and the gorgeous shoes I wanted to show off

How was your session? What was your favorite part? My favorite part was how fun it was… and the glitter!

My session was full of giggles, champagne, girly talk, and a whole lot of glitter!

What was your favorite look from your session? Why? I LOVED the glorious ruffly “killed my husband” robe! It was dynamite and made me feel like I was in an old Hollywood movie.

How are you feeling since your session? I feel great! It was such a wonderful and fun experience that I kept that feeling of empowerment for a long time after.

Did you bring anything special with you to the studio? Why? I brought a few things with me to the shoot that were special but the most special would be my sense of happiness. Is that too cheesy? I did bring some fun shoes and my husband’s football jersey, but I don’t think it can compare to the attitude that I came with.

I was going to do this really fun thing and no one was going to stop me! 

How was your reveal? It was wonderful. I got to relive my whole shoot all over again and had fun watching how my experience translated into pictures.

Any advice for anyone thinking of booking a session with JVZ? JUST DO IT!!!

Anything else you want to share about your session and/or experience? I have told so many of my friends about doing the boudoir shoot since I’ve done it and most of them have told me that they’ve always wanted to do it but don’t feel comfortable for a variety of reasons. I want to tell each person right now: WHO CARES WHAT ANYONE ELSE THINKS?!

If you want to do it – just go and do it!

I didn’t feel great about my stretch marks or my cookie pouch but who was I doing this shoot for? Me.

I wanted to feel sexy and I wore whatever I wanted to achieve that feeling and had a WONDERFUL photographer to capture those moments. Plus, you don’t have to show the things you don’t want to – boudoir is what you make of it and what you want to do. Plus it’s fun and who doesn’t love fun?
