Client Feature Friday: All Dolled Up

Jezebel VonZephyr loves to shine a spotlight on womxn of every age and size. We live to connect with each client; and we pride ourselves on holding space for each of them so we can hear their stories and capture their unique spirit. We believe that every session is special in its own way, and we want to share that magic with the world. On Fridays we shine a spotlight on a client so they can share a part of their story. 

Today we feature someone who was told that boudoir isn’t for them. They’ve experienced a lot of roadblocks and thought this wasn’t an experience that would ever happen. They really just wanted to get dolled up and see themselves in a new way.

How could we resist?! We were thrilled to show them that boudoir is for every body!

What is your theme song? “All Dolled Up” by The Orion Experience or “Am I a Girl” by Poppy

What are three words you’d use to describe yourself? Patient, Unique, Unashamedly Myself 

Is this your first Jezebel shoot? If not, how many have you had? This was my very first Jezebel shoot. 

Why did you decide to book a session with JVZ? I wanted to really show who I am.

I feel that the photos I’ve seen really do a wonderful job of capturing who a person is. 

How did you feel before your shoot? Anxious. It was a whole new experience doing a boudoir shoot.

I have been told “This is something you can’t do” for so long that the message had me in my head something fierce.

How was your session? ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! I don’t think we stopped laughing and joking through the whole thing. 

What was your favorite part? My makeup and hair reveal.

Experiencing the turn in the makeup chair and seeing myself in the mirror for the first time was amazing. I had to choke back tears. 

What was your favorite look from your session? Why? I haven’t been able to decide. Each one was a different expression if myself and narrowing it down has been difficult. The usage of the Wings was absolutely magical.

How are you feeling since your session? Daily affirmations are definitely a thing for me now. I never thought about the before but after going through the Soul2Soul “Just the Facts” exercise I realized just how much they can help

Did you bring anything special with you to the studio? I brought clothing items I hadn’t worn before or was uncertain of as well as various pieces of jewelry and a handful of handmade items

Why? I was was encouraged to bring things with me that made me happy. I thought I may have gone overboard but I’m so glad we had all of the options

How was your reveal? Emotional! I can’t believe how much I loved all of the photos.

It’s amazing seeing myself in a way that I feel captured who I am.

Any advice for anyone thinking of booking a session with JVZ? Do it! It’s nerve racking to take that plunge but OMG is it so worth it.

You will see yourself in a whole new light afterwards.

If you don’t feel you have confidence beforehand you will absolutely find it during your session.
