30 May Client Feature Friday: I am Woman, I am Fearless
Jezebel VonZephyr loves to shine a spotlight on womxn of every age and size. We live to connect with each client; and we pride ourselves on holding space for each of them so we can hear their stories and capture their unique spirit. We believe that every session is special in its own way, and we want to share that magic with the world. On Fridays we shine a spotlight on a client so they can share a part of their story.
Our client feature Friday this week introduces us to an empathetic and curious Belle who has a fondness for sultry blues music and Emmy Meli. While out and about on a local wine walk, she ran into Jezebel and decided now was the time to experience boudoir! Pull up a seat and read on as this amazing human tells us about how she walked away from her session with a new appreciation for and connection to her sensuality!
In the interest of respecting the anonymity of our beautiful Belle this week, all photos in this feature are censored based upon her wishes. At Jezebel, your privacy is just as important to us as it is to you!
If you’ve ever wanted to be featured on our blog but prefer to limit the images we can use, please feel free to reach out! We’d love to hear your story ♥
Where are you from? Where do you live now? What’s your favorite thing about where you live?
I’m originally from Marysville, but have since moved to Snohomish!
What are some of your favorite songs/artists? Do you have a theme song–if so, what is it and why does that song(s) resonate with you?
My favorite genre is sultry blues because it gets me out of my head and into my body!
My theme song is I am Woman by Emmy Meli because it reminds me of how bad-ass us womenfolk are!!!
What are three words you’d use to describe yourself?
Empathetic, Curious, and Dorky
Is this your first Jezebel session? If not, how many have you had and in either instance, what was your favorite part?
This was my first session, and my favorite part was getting glammed up and making a sensual connection with my body while Sara was cheering me on!
What made you want to have a boudoir session and what made you choose Jezebel as your studio?
I’ve been wanting to have a boudoir session for a while now but was feeling nervous. We were on a wine walk (so I had some liquid courage) when I came across the studio and fell in love with the dorky-sexy style. It felt like I was among my people lol
What were your expectations going into the session and was the experience different or as you expected and how?
I was nervous, but more excited at first – even though I knew I was going to get naked in front of strangers lol!
But the experience was more than expected in the sense of how comfortable I ended up feeling!
Tell me about your session–your favorite set? outfit? prop? moment? favorite studio piece you used/wore? What stood out the most?
My session was amazing! I fell in love with the angel wings and I loved the body chain that Sara picked out with it!! The red room was so much fun as well! The best part was getting so many complements from Sara and Nikki!
How did you feel about the guidance you received during the session?
I loved the guidance! A big part of which was Sara just encouraging me that I know what I’m doing (even though it didn’t feel like it)
Tell us about your hair styling/makeup application? How was your time in the chair? What did you really love?
I loved getting done up with Nikki and her make up was gorgeous!!! She was so sweet and knowledgeable about what would look good on camera! I did my own hair but she helped me poof it up a bit at the end!
How do you feel JVZ managed your privacy and confidentiality, both of your images and of you during your time with us?
No issues at all!
How were you feeling leaving the studio and leading up to your photo reveal appointment?
I felt super sexy leaving the studio and so excited to see the reveal (which was even better than what I was expecting!)
How was your reveal appointment? What did you like the most about it? What did you take home with you?
I loved my reveal appointment and my favorite was my slideshow. I ended up getting an album and the slideshow!
Have you had any lasting impact/perspective shifts since your appointment? If so, please share as much as you’re comfortable with.
I’m much more appreciative with my body! I’ve struggled with body dysmorphia for most of my life and I didn’t know how I’d feel about celebrating my body through photos. Afterwards, I’ve been feeling much more confident in my skin and less hard on myself. This was truly a therapeutic moment for me!
Other than “just do it”, what advice would you offer a friend interested in a session to book with Jezebel? What tips might you give? What were the best tips you received either from us or from others?
Don’t wait until you feel you’re “in shape” or that it has to be for a specific occasion. Your body is magical and it deserves your attention!
Anything else you’d like to share?
This is a fabulous way to dispel shame around feminine sensuality and to take ownership of what beauty truly means.
This client’s story really shows how magical a boudoir photoshoot can be in reclaiming our authentic selves. Her session with JVZ wasn’t just about taking beautiful photos; it was an uplifting, genuine space where she got to reconnect with her body and celebrate the shift she’s experienced in the relationship she has with her body!
