BodyTalks: Tushy Thursday | 5 Self-Love Rituals to Try Before Your First Boudoir Shoot

Thursday is Tush-Day!

At Jezebel, we celebrate you. This encompasses every facet of who you are – who WE all are. We show you ways to see yourself through the lens of unconditional love, and we understand that some days it’s easy to appreciate ourselves, and other times it can be more of a challenge.

This is where we want to flip the script and really talk about what our bodies can do for us. Honest discussions can lead to acceptance, and acceptance can open our eyes to the possibilities of love.

Thursdays at Jezebel are all about the booty! Each week we’ll be showcasing some of our favorite images where they have a starring role., while also  discussing the challenges we face with an often disliked part of our bodies. Our hope with these focused posts is to turn these challenges into an appreciation for who we are, exactly as we are, right now. Because we’re all worth it

We're Bringing Booty Back!

Hello Lovelies!

At Jezebel, you know that we believe every womxn deserves to feel celebrated, seen, and deeply connected to her own beauty — no matter her age, size, or life chapter. Your boudoir session is about so much more than taking beautiful photos. It’s a chance to reconnect with your body, your confidence, and your sensuality!

If you’ve been following along with the blog for awhile, each week deciding to celebrate yourself just a little more, and have now decided to jump in and book yourself a Jezebel experience – this week’s post is for you. Even if you’re not quite ready for your first (or fifteenth) session, self-love and pampering yourself is always a great idea!

As you wait for your upcoming session, why not take the time to nurture the connection you’ve begun with yourself?

Are you looking to feel grounded, empowered, and ready to fully embrace the experience?

5 Self-Love Rituals to Indulge in Before Your Boudoir Photography Session

✨ Practice Mirror Affirmations to Reconnect with Your Body ✨

Start your day with a few moments of loving reflection in the mirror. Look yourself in the eyes and speak affirmations that uplift and empower:

🪞 “I am Radiant.”

🪞 “My Body is strong and beautiful.”

🪞 “I am worthy of being seen.”

Even if it feels uncomfortable or silly at first, this ritual rewires negative self-talk into compassion and appreciation. As you repeat this practice leading up to your session, you’ll find yourself standing taller and showing up with more confidence — both in front of the mirror and in front of the camera.

Indulge in a Nourishing Skincare or Body Care Ritual

Transform your usual skincare into an act of intentional self-care. Run a warm bath with essential oils, give yourself a lovely massage with your favorite lotion, or try that luxurious face mask you’ve been saving for a special occasion – babe, every day is a special occasion!

This ritual isn’t about achieving “perfect” skin — it’s about honoring your body with love. The physical act of touch can ground you in the present and awaken a deep sense of sensuality. By the time you step into the studio, you won’t just look radiant — you’ll feel it.

Curate a Boudoir Confidence Playlist

Music has the power to shift energy and ignite confidence. Build a playlist filled with songs that make you feel sexy, bold, and unstoppable. Whether it’s sultry soul, fierce female anthems, or feel-good throwbacks, let this soundtrack become your pre-session hype mix.

Put it on while you get dressed, during your commute, or mention all of these favorites during your style consultation, so we know what fires you up when you come into the studio!  It’s a simple but powerful way to channel your inner goddess before and during your boudoir shoot.

Write a Love Letter to Your Body

Grab a journal and write a heartfelt letter to your body. Thank it for the strength its given you, the pleasure its shown you, and the stories written in every curve and scar. Offer kindness to the parts you’ve struggled with, and celebrate the parts you’ve learned to love.

💖 This emotional self-love ritual is one many women find deeply healing. 💖

When you arrive for your boudoir session, you’ll feel less self-conscious and more reverent — ready to celebrate your body as it truly deserves. And, if you’re still nervous – that’s totally okay! Last week we chatted about how to face these super common feelings. Need a little advice?

Take Yourself on a Solo Date

One of the most empowering things you can do? Romance yourself. Dress up and go out for dinner, browse a bookstore, take a sunset walk, or sip champagne in a silk robe at home. Do something that reminds you how magnetic and desirable you are — with or without anyone else’s validation.

These solo moments build confidence and joy from within. You’ll arrive at your boudoir session not just pampered — but truly present and deeply in touch with your own power.

Loving our bodies is a journey

You don’t need a special occasion — or a boudoir session — to start showing yourself love today. In fact, some of the most powerful self-care moments are the simplest ones!

🕯️ Light a candle while you cook dinner.
🎶 Play your favorite feel-good song while you brush your teeth.
🌬️ Take a few deep breaths between meetings.
👘 Wrap yourself in your softest robe, even if you’re just lounging at home.
✒️ Write down one kind thing about your body each morning.

These small acts might not seem like much, but they quietly teach your heart that you are worthy of tenderness right now — not when you hit a goal, or look a certain way, or have something to “celebrate.” You are the celebration. Start there. 💛
