Client Feature Friday: Therapy in the Form of a Boudoir Shoot!

Jezebel VonZephyr works with all kinds of women, from the suburbs of Seattle to all over the Pacific Northwest and beyond. We love connecting with each client, hearing her stories and capturing her unique spirit. We believe that every session is special in its own way, and we want to share that magic with the world. Every Friday we’ll feature one of our clients and share a little about her.

Today we feature a Belle who came from the Columbia Gorge area for her first Jezebel session! She saw what a JVZ shoot did for a friend and decided to give it a shot. We happily welcomed her in and made sure she rocked her boudoir session wearing black lace and thigh high boots! Scroll on to hear her story and check out some of the photos from her magical session!

Age: I’ll be 35 this month.

Where are you from? I’m from Dallesport, WA  – it’s a  little tiny tiny town in the Columbia Gorge.

What is your theme song?  Oh boy, a theme song??? Hmm….I don’t know that I would say I have a theme song per say but I have 2 go to bands that get me through hard times: Shinedown and Bad Wolves.

What are three words you’d use to describe yourself? Sarcastic, introverted, and caring.

Is this your first Jezebel shoot? If not, how many have you had? Yes, it was.

Why did you decide to book a session with JVZ? I decided to give one of their raffles a shot after watching a good family friend share her photo shoot. I could see how much she was glowing afterwards. I thought the worst that could happen is I wouldn’t win, and the best was I got one and I could maybe see what others always tell me they see.

How did you feel before your shoot? NERVOUS!!!!!!! I was questioning myself: am I insane for doing this?  I was scared that my inner critic was going to be proven right about how I looked and that everyone that always tells me that I look beautiful were going to be proven wrong. (I know this is totally skewed, but hey – it was a real thought process for me!)

How was your session? What was your favorite part?  Wonderful.  Everyone was so nice and friendly.  It was an uplifting and supportive session.  My favorite part…hmm… I loved having my makeup and hair done by someone else, dressing up, learning what poses look best for my body shape – there are so many to pick from!

What was your favorite look from your session? Why? The black lace!!!!!!! There are several reasons why it’s my favorite look.

A.) Black tends to be my favorite color to wear.

B.) I felt the sexiest in that one.

And c.) There’s one shot where it was almost an exact replica of a look my mother did once when she did glamour/boudoir shots, and I could totally see my mum in me.

How are you feeling since your session? I feel good most days. I still struggle with my body but the session and support system I gained after the session has been amazing.

Did you bring anything special with you to the studio? Why? I brought a pair of black thigh high boots, a green and purple scarf and my tarot cards.  They seemed to be the right things to bring.  Next time I’m bringing one of my ferrets though!! LOL!

How was your reveal?  It was fun, and a bit overwhelming seeing so many pictures of myself – but still fun!

Any advice for anyone thinking of booking a session with JVZ?  Don’t stay up late waxing your eyebrows the night before. (Yes, I totally did this and I paid the price for it! LOL!)  Jokes aside: relax, have fun, be in the moment while you’re there.

Anything else you want to share about your session and/or experience This was an amazing experience and I would love to do it again.  It’s really like a bit of therapy if you allow it to be and it’s totally worth that.

Does her thought process sound familiar: you can’t believe that you are beautiful even when you hear it from other people? We see that a lot at Jezebel VonZephyr and we are here to help you realize that you are so damn beautiful. And more than that: you are worthy of all good things. If you’re struggling to love or accept yourself, we’d love to help you see yourself in a new light. Book your session and start on your new journey of self-acceptance and self-love, like this client did. Jezebel cannot wait to support you on your new path.
