Staff Feature Saturday: She’s Creepy and Creative, She’s Boudoir Artist Tiffany!

July is a beloved month at Jezebel VonZephyr. Why? Because it’s JVZ’s birthday month! We’re celebrating all month long with a special blog series that highlights the Jezebel team. Each Saturday in July we’ll spotlight one of the JVZ team members so that you, our lovely readers and clients, can learn more about us!

OoooOOOoooohh! Do you hear that spooky sound? That could only mean one thing: our next Jezebel team member is on her way! Today we feature the lover of all things spooky and spectacular: Tiffany! You may know her as the Jezebel VonZephyr resident makeup artist, but she is also known on the team as diabolically creative, just a wee bit creepy (ask her about her doll collection sometime!), and more than a little devious! What makes Tiffany tick? Let’s find out!

Who are you? Great! Oh- wait! I thought it said “how…” ha! I’m Tiffany. And I’m still great.

How long have you been a part of the Jezebel team? And what do you do? I *think* I’ve been here 5 years. I am the lead hair and makeup artist. I also make those fun posts featuring our clients on our Facebook page

Where are you from? I reside in Everett, Washington.

What is your theme song? “Superwoman” by Alicia Keys

When you’re not doing Jezebel things, what do you do? When I am not at the studio, I lightly supervise three small humans and a husband. I love to spend time in my yard- mostly wishing it would look like the Pinterest picture. Honestly, my family keeps me pretty busy. I volunteer to teach art at my kids school and am a Girl Scout leader. I’m also vice-president of my son’s middle school PTA. So, mom shit. I do mom shit when I’m not at the studio and I love it. Except laundry – why the fuck is there so much laundry? I absolutely love to quilt as a hobby but since I broke my sewing machine, I found a fantastic new hobby that I LOVE sharing with my JVZ Family (and they love it too*) – I buy old porcelain dolls and give them creepy makeovers. My kids help and it’s great fun! I have three pets: a 115 pound lap dog and two bitchy cats.

*Team note: we only kind of love it and only when we’re in very good moods because Tiffany has a gift for finding literally the creepiest dolls in the world and we’re pretty sure we’re all cursed after seeing some of them.

What are three words you’d use to describe yourself? Kind. Loyal. Creative.

What three words do you think the JVZ team would use to describe you? Kind. Creepy. Deviant.

Do you have a favorite drink? Yes. The 3 W’s. Wine, whisky and water. I’ve also really taken a liking to Moscow Mules.

What’s your favorite season? Why? Winter because SNOW!!

What is your favorite swear word? FUCK.

Would you like to share a random fact about yourself? I don’t like to walk barefoot in the grass. Or sit in it. Or lie upon it. Ew.

What book (or movie or TV show) do you recommend to all your friends? Supernatural – always. My current favorite TV show is Loki. I also really love Prop Culture on Disney+. And The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix. And Nancy Drew on CW!

My favorite book is The Body Keeps Score by Bessel van der Kolk – it changed my life and how I processed my trauma. I never looked back after I read it.

Do you have a favorite JVZ shoot look or outfit? Or outfits?  Oh geez. This is a terrible question! I carefully create each outfit and I’m intentional about every piece! Picking a favorite is like asking me to pick a favorite child! But if I have to choose – I do a different version of Castiel (from the show Supernatural) every year and I think my “glam” Castiel has been my favorite so far. Or Negan… that was a great set. Or Luna Lovegood- that was fun too!!

What advice do you have for anyone coming in for their first shoot? Read everything Kaitlyn sends you! Ask questions at your style consultation! Watch our Client Closet tours in our Facebook group. We work really hard to help you prepare. Also, buy one outfit that is waaaay out of your comfort zone, one where you say, “oh! That’s really beautiful! I would love to wear it! But I don’t know if I could pull it off.” That will be your favorite outfit, I promise.

Can you share one of your favorite JVZ memories? My favorite moments are when clients SEE themselves for the first time. Like, really see themselves. Some aren’t sure. Some are surprised and some can’t believe it. You can never see yourself as others do and we get to show that to women – it’s a gift.

What are your biggest hopes and dreams for Jezebel VonZephyr? That we always remain true to our roots and foundation – that we believe to our core, every woman is worthy and loved and valued for her inner light. I hope we will always continue to help women discover that light.

Tiffany takes her job of helping women see themselves in a new light very seriously. The whole Jezebel VonZephyr team is proud of the community we’ve created (and continue to grow) as well as the life-changing experience that we get to give to women. Jezebel VonZephyr believes that boudoir is for every woman, regardless of her age, race, size, or budget. We invite you to treat yourself to a session and see what Tiffany helps to create. Like she said: your inner light is beautiful and we want to help you shine brightly. What’s holding you back? Book your session and have Tiffany inspire you to become your best self.
